Reeta Vestman (nee Korhola) is a Finnish actress, singer and musician. She has recently graduated from Royal Academy of Music in London, where she did the Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Theatre and the Licentitate of Royal Academy of Music. Reeta has also graduated from Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and Complete Vocal Institute in Copehagen. During the years 2004-2010 Reeta toured the world as the vocalist of Husky Rescue, a band known for it’s cinematic pop and folktronica. Husky Rescue's three highly acclaimed albums (Ship of Light 2010, Ghost Is Not Real 2007, Country Falls 2004) have taken the band around the world to perform at many gigs and festivals in Europe, America and Asia, such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. The most recent album, Ship of Light, was also Sunday Times’ pick for CD of the week and it also received 5 star review from Sunday Telegraph.

Despite being just twenty-something, Reeta has been in the business for a while: she starred a big part in a feature film Routasydän when only 9 years old and got her first record out at the age of 11 with the band Tuppasuut, which was led by Mari Kaasinen from the legendary folk group Värttinä. Reeta won the Finlandia-price for children (Napero Finlandia) for her story Saunatonttu (a story about an elf living in an electric sauna) the same year. Vestman spent her Sweet Sixteen touring around Finland as a keyboardist of a pop group Wilma and studying at the Kallio Highschoold for performing arts. She got signed to Universal Music as a singer-songwriter at the age of 18. First solo album (Avaimet 2005) contains self-made Finnish soulful pop.

Besides pop and musical, Reeta's vocal range of 3,5 octaves is great for jazz and gospel as well and she had her own jazzband Kemia for over a decade. Reeta has also collaborated with many artists, such as Bomfunk MC’s and Pepe Deluxe. She teaches singing and works as a session singer through her own enterprise Full Voice. Due to her individual sound, Reeta has also dubbed a lot commercials and sang in Films. Besides acting, dancing and singing, Reeta enjoys backpacking (Reeta Vestman was voted for Finlands Traveller of the year 2007) and spending time at the summercottage by the lakeside.
